Having personally experienced the vital support Macmillan provide to those living with cancer, I was inspired to follow a fundraising career in the charity sector.
My Mum, Louise, was diagnosed with cancer in 2012. During this time, Macmillan provided support to help with the physical and emotional side effects of treatment. They recommended complementary holistic therapies and also provided information at a time when she needed it most.
The impact of this journey made me want to support those affected by cancer and help them access the vital services that Macmillan provides.
I joined Macmillan as an intern in 2018 after finishing university. I am proud to be given this unique opportunity to help Macmillan achieve its goal of raising awareness and increasing the support it can offer to those affected by cancer.
My role as the London Marathon Officer is heavily focused around providing support to our runners. I will be helping organise all things London Marathon, from the training day to the Running Show, pizza party, and on-the-day logistics.
